How did he propose?
Michael organised a private boat to take us out onto Sydney Harbour. When the boat arrived to pick us up, I had an inkling and was anticipating him to propose the whole time. An hour passed, and still no proposal, so I thought I’d read the whole thing wrong. Our driver stopped the boat in front of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge (we went to the city for our second date) and asked us if we wanted a photo. We took our cute photo, and then Michael got on one knee. I could not stop smiling. I have never felt so much excitement in my life.
Describe the journey of finding your dream dress and your experience in The Sposa Group store.
I had seen ‘the dress’ online, and that’s what brought me to the Sposa Group store. It was the first and only bridal store I went to. My bridal consultant, Chloe, made finding my dream dress so easy. She let me walk around and just be in awe of the stunning gowns hanging. I tried on the dress I’d been admiring online, and I was in love with the intricate details in the embroidery and 3d flowers, as well as the colour of the gown. I wasn’t convinced by the gown’s silhouette, but I just knew that I could not part with the colour and fabric, so my mum and Chloe came up with the genius idea of making my dress a hybrid. We combined the Isabel silhouette with the willow fabric. It was perfect.
What made you fall in love with your wedding dress?
I fell in love with the blush undertone of my dress, the 3d florals and of course the ball gown silhouette, but it wasn’t until I put it on that I truly fell in love. I felt my true self in the dress. I was honestly smiling and just in a daze. It was so whimsical and dainty but also still had structure, makingit slightly regal at the same time. The colour made my skin glow. I remember trying a white dress on afterwards, and I looked so washed out. The dress just suited my personality to a tea, and so many of my family and friends said that to me on our wedding day.
What advice would you give to the future brides looking for a wedding dress?
My advice would be to find a dress that expresses who you are and your personality. Try to avoid going with what’s in ‘Vogue’ (unless it happens to truly be your style). I also only took my mum as I trusted her opinion more than anyone and didn’t want conflicting views. There are so many wedding dresses that are absolutely gorgeous, and too many opinions can make you confused, which you really don’t want
Describe the wedding day.
The dress set the theme for the entire wedding. It was whimsical, dainty, elegant and full of happiness. I was obsessed with the flowers, and of course, the Tea room just suited the theme perfectly. The best moment was walking out of the church for the first time as husband and wife.
My husband and I had been in a serious car accident 9 months prior, where I broke my back, so this moment was even more momentous. I remember whispering to each other, “We did it”, right afterwards.
How did you feel wearing your wedding dress?.
I had never felt so beautiful. I felt confident and just loved every minute of wearing it. My dress had a hoop, which made it super easy to walk in and dance as well. I got my Cinderella moment, and it was magical
What was a highlight of the night?
Another memorable moment was just walking through the botanical gardens for our photos. We laughed and chatted and just had so much fun together. It was nice to have a slower-paced moment to really take it all in.
Would you recommend the Sposa Group Store to future brides?
I would highly recommend the Sposa Group to future brides. Not only was the customer service phenomenal, but there was a large variety of dresses to choose from as well. The ability to customise dresses to suit each individual’s style is also another reason I’d recommend the Sposa Group
